Our History
1982 Dr. Helmut Katschnig, Specialist in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, opened the Dialysis Institute in Judenburg. At the time, the treatment options for chronic kidney patients were still in their early stages.
In 1985, the dialysis institute was rebuilt with treatment capacity for 20 patients. In the following years, the dialysis institute was expanded and modernized again and again to offer patients a comfortable environment during their therapy. Separate dialysis rooms for special treatments (most recently for COVID patients) were set up.
In 2020/21, the treatment options for multimorbid patients were further optimised with an extension.
Today, there are 30 dialysis spaces in our institutes.
